Dance has always held a special place in my heart—it’s truly my first love in the arts. While many might say I got a “late start” at age 11, my journey into dance is uniquely mine.
I first dipped my toes into ballet and tap at four years old, but after just six months, I stepped away and dedicated myself fully to gymnastics. For years, I trained hard, competed, and even made it to the state level—until the world shifted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and everything paused.
It was during that time I realized that dance was calling me in a way gymnastics never had. At 11, I begged my parents to let me make the transition—and I’m so grateful they said yes. I knew I had a lot of catching up to do, but I was determined. I dove in headfirst, taking extra classes, learning new styles, and pushing myself to master the foundational techniques.
To my surprise, I began to catch up quickly with peers who had been dancing for years. But the perfectionist in me knows there’s always room to grow. Dance has become more than just an art form—it’s a way of life. It’s taught me discipline, emotional connection, teamwork, professionalism, and the true meaning of commitment.
What started as a bold leap has turned into one of the greatest blessings of my life. Dance has opened doors to opportunities I once only dreamed of and has given me life skills I’ll carry with me forever.
